For those of you who do not know, there is an entire YouTube channel devoted to AdventureTech.
Please give some love to the channel, subscribe if you wish – and check out some of the adventures and mishaps that Spitfire and other YouTube personalities have had during the Open Beta of AdventureTech. He also has a bunch of contests, prizes and is a certified YouTube partner! (you might even see yourself talking or your house on an episode or two)

I will be releasing the current version of AdventureTech to the public before 1/1/2013 so that people can host their own servers and keep their own maps going long-term on this current platform.
I think that you will like to run this more expansive version with a small group of friends, where you don’t have to worry about the problems associated with public servers. Mods included are: Forgotten Nature, Legendary Beasts, Familiars, Steve’s Carts, Coral mod, Too Many Plants, NEI + addons, wireless redstone chicken bones edition, campfire mod, secret rooms mod, damage indicators, armor/status indicators, factorycraft, factorization, animal packers, optifine, invtweaks, Rei’s minimap, twilight forest, ComputerCraft, Thaumcraft 3, Metallurgy 2, Sword Pedastal, Lockit, Teleport stones, parachute mod, Torojima’s Chococraft, Jammy’s Furniture mod, dungeon pack, Iron Chests, Balkon’s weapon mod with metallurgy 2 support, multi-crafting table, ultra version with shaders and two HD texture packs with different effects.
We at AegisGaming have released our new launcher. This launcher contains Hack/Mine, AdventureTech, Anarchy (alpha), Mo’SMP and Vanilla. Take a look at how all aspects of the launcher interface cycle as you move through the mod packs.
To download and install the launcher, which will update Minecraft in a separate folder and allow you to play all these mod packs visit > http://launcher.aegisgaming.org/
I have been updating AdventureTech like mad with new mods and features during our Open Beta.
Frizzil, the author of the popular Hack/Mine is now part of the Aegis staff and has been making updates to his product that are very cool.
UPDATE 12/23/2012: I finished first in the regular season, taking the transactions fees for all adds/drops/trades. Also I came in second for the championship, giving me the second place prize winnings. So close to winning (4 points), but in the end I had a RB1 early-game injury and the humiliation of my San Francisco 49ers defense stop me from clinching the cup.. I still won more cash winnings than anyone in the league so I will take that.
I don’t watch much sports and/or keep up on players, so I was reluctant to join my neighborhood league for American Fantasy Football when I was invited by family friends.
As this was my first year playing fantasy football, I allowed the computer to do some picking while I quickly verified my players on Google. For the name of my team, I picked ‘Glixyl’s Mechanism’ of course.
The beginning of the season was bumpy, but after a few weeks I started to pull ahead in score. We are now in week 14, the final week of the regular season and I am in a good spot headed into the playoffs. These guys are seasoned players and football junkies, so I think this might have more to do with beginner’s luck than skill; but hey I will take the win and the money if I can 🙂
We are running a PVP tournament at Aegis where griefing of structures and players is allowed. I want to test the new mods, user craft-able locks and region protects by having a building/gathering contest under pressure.
Some things that make this PVP tournament more fun than others IMO:
1. The goal is to build things and gather, but under pressure with griefing/raiding outside the spawn zone allowed.
2. You cannot lose gear on your person such as armor, weapons and your locks/keys/teleport stones.
3. The judges will vote (starting 12/16 and ending 12/21) and the players will receive items/prestige when the PVE environment map reverts to current PVE.
4. You can focus on strictly winning, or messing up someone else’s day. The goal is to test this mod pack and make it better; for which you will rewarded if you win.
5. If it gets too out of control and/or the server can’t handle things, I will go to the PVE map and back to the drawing board.
I plan to release the AdventureTech server and client auto-installer on the Minecraft 1.4.2 platform (v0.5.4) after I roll out v0.6 to the Aegis production server.
Aegis AdventureTech v0.6 is in testing on the Minecraft 1.4.5 platform and now has 48 mods (almost twice as many as in v0.5 or Feed-the-Beast), for an experience quite a bit different than anything you have played.
Check out the video of this testing and check back here for the public server release on the current production platform.
In general, I plan to release public versions of AdventureTech a major revision behind the Aegis version; rewarding players that are willing to help me test.
Lots of people have told me that I couldn’t host a public server without using Bukkit. For those who aren’t aware, Bukkit is at the heart of almost every Minecraft public server you have played on. It is a workhorse and has an amazing plugin library developed and extended over years. The problem is that if you want to use Bukkit with Forge mods nowadays (such as Mo’ Creatures and IC2), you are pretty much stuck on Minecraft 1.2.5. People like md5 are trying to keep the flame alive for ForgeBukkit, but that project is way behind schedule and mostly abandoned.
When I joined AegisGaming.org, it was assumed that I would have to wait until a new Bukkit was released or host my Revenge server with just basic spawn protection. I thought.. To hell with that, and got to work reading, talking and collaborating with others to allow my mod packs to be hosted on larger servers.
Glixyl’s Crate is the result and I have integrated this suite of mods into the AdventureTech server to provide many of the features of Bukkit; while being able to stay on the latest version of Minecraft and have access to all the coolest and cutting edge mods.
FEATURES:
-Locks and Sharing of blocks and regions
-Block protection
-Warp, Summon, Multiple Homes, Spawn
-Server Lag Detection (per world) and for each player
-Recipe Blocking, Encrypted passwords and IP checking for account security
-Command Block integration for fire control, mob de-griefing/etc.
-Better multi-threading for server and per world tick per second.
-User crafted keys, locks, regions (coming soon)
Come check out AdventureTech by using the AegisLauncher and connecting to our server. Glixyl’s Crate will be at the heart of my newest version of Revenge as well of course.. which I plan to begin work on soon.
UPDATE 11/24: There is now a dedicated AdventureTech page. Familiars mod and Jammy Furniture mod added to 1.4.2 version.
I have revved AdventureTech to Minecraft 1.4.2 in testing. I am loving the results and may actually push the new version out sometime today for testing, based on user feedback.
Check out the video for the new features and how I am extending the ‘Tech’ part of AdventureTech to appease users, but not kill the server with pipes, quarries and all kinds of contraptions.
Although some technology was added to AdventureTech, the focus remains firmly on exploration, mining, nature and beauty. You need to venture out across the dimensions to acquire materials and defeat boss monsters. Beware of the werewolves, witches, large cats, poisonous snakes and other creatures. Wonder at the diversity of both plants and animals.

It is day two of AdventureTech open beta and I have already fixed all reported bugs and believe that the server is stable for the most part. So what are you waiting for?
BUG FIXES: Smart Moving is now less likely to turn you around on accident. Crystal tools now have proper durability. Ore crushers give the proper dust output. Naga scale crafts properly and there is a new splash screen panorama.

UPDATE: 11/5/2012 – You can play the open beta of AdventureTech on our new Aegis Launcher that auto-updates and also contains Mo’ SMP v3.4 and Hack/Mine (with awesome server for hack/mine too). Please register at http://aegisgaming.org as it is free and we are a non-profit gaming network.
Get it here> http://files.aegisgaming.org/Technic/aegis-launcher.jar The server IP is coded into the launcher so join in on the fun.
Since joining forces with AegisGaming, I have been able to both put AdventureTech into our new launcher and test it quite a bit on my private server.
We have found a few bugs and I have corrected for others. Aegis will be releasing AdventureTech to a larger audience in the very near future (possibly this weekend).
Aegis is a non-profit gaming organization that I joined to help promote Minecraft as a positive gaming experience for people of all ages.
To test the server under load, I will only be releasing the client through our Aegis Launcher for now; which will auto-update for you. That auto-installer will have the server coded into it so that you can both install and play without hassle.
For now, here is the storyline video that shows some of the boss monsters, beasts, crops, trees and new items, ores, fossils, dinosaurs, weapons and armors that make up the AdventureTech universe. Grow a beanstalk and climb to the sky, make a rain wand and so much more!
We have big plans for AdventureTech and will be expanding and adding content as time goes on. For now I have frozen the product so that it can be properly tested under user load.
If you want to help in that process it would be useful.
Thank you,
glixyl
The mod prototype shown in the previous post now has a name and is being tested. I have spent some time comparing my mod pack Revenge to the current king of the hill, Tekkit.
This time around, I am going for a completely different look and feel with very different objectives. Beauty and diversity of plants with a focus on exploration and adventure. There is a protection system for locking regions and chests, home/spawn/player teleport and summoning.
I have released the mod pack to many beta testers and so far they are having a lot of fun. Take a look at simultaneous gameplay on two YouTube channels of the same action; from different perspectives.
I had this mod pack working in the new Aegis Launcher, but then Minecraft 1.4.2 was released yesterday and it broke the Spoutcraft launcher so we will have to wait a bit longer for it.. in the meantime I will continue to keep you updated. Look out for the official release of Mo’ SMP v3.4 client and server pack as early as tomorrow! (I have added some cool stuff to Mo’ SMP that I feel you will like as well as a shader version including the best eye candy such as dripping/bump-mapped blocks)
